Christmas Cake
I love this time of year, so when I get an order for a Christmas themed cake, I just about jump for joy. This time around I made a raspberry mascarpone filled cake.
The reindeer was handcut and I handpainted snowflakes and the words Ho, Ho, Ho with food gel coloring.
I sprinkled a little edible glitter on the reindeer's antlers and on the red holly berries.
Merry Christmas!

Minion Cake
This cake makes me laugh and smile at the same time. The cake was all chocolate with nutella buttercream filling and frosting. Everything is covered in fondant and everything is edible. My husband crafted the base so that Bob, the Minion, would not go falling over! I wanted to capture the scene from the movie, where Bob is walking towards the pool in nothing but a towel and a red thong. Doesn't he have the cutest butt cheeks? lol

Doc Mcstuffins Cake
I've been just dying to create a cake in the theme of Doc Mcstuffins, so when the client came to me with this, I was very excited. I used fondant to model the figures and the cake was chocolate and banana with cream cheese frosting.

One of these things
One of these things is not like the other. It happened again, not one but TWO of my cakes made it to the top page on CakesDecor - can you spot which two of the cakes below are mine? :) Hint: one is red, black, and white, and the other is summer themed.

Penguin Cake
Can you believe that in the five years I've been making cakes, that this cake is the first penguin themed creation I've made?! I had a fabulous time making this cake and was pleased with the outcome of the penguin topper. I had the very last minute idea to make a cupcake stand and use that as the holder for the penguin. I made the stand from gumpaste and let it dry, then painted it and sprayed it, and finally gave it a gloss by using a little corn syrup with water.
The cake was for a little girl's birthday celebration and the cake flavors were mint chocolate chip with mint buttercream. The penguin I made with fondant and I used a new brand that I felt took a long time to dry. I textured the front of his body to look like a heart with an arrow through it. The balloons were sugarpaste. One lone snowflake sits between the cupcake stand and the top tier of cake. I finished off the cake with little bows and ribbon at the bottom of each tier.

Winnie The Pooh Chalkboard Cake
I'm extremely proud of this creation and am so excited to share it with everyone. The cake was to celebrate the life of a child who struggles with a rare genetic disorder called Achondroplasia. I was so honored and delighted to be chosen to make it for this delightful child and her family.
The different tiers of cake were carrot cake with cream cheese filling, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, Nutella chocolate with mocha buttercream, smores with chocolate buttercream, and oreo cookie with praline buttercream.
All of the designs were hand painted free hand on the cake to make it look like chalkboard painting, and represent the different scenes from the beloved tales of Winnie The Pooh.

Cat Lady Cake
There are few times in a cake decorator's life that they can make a cake for themselves instead of always making them for everyone else! This was one of those rare times, in fact the only time in the five years that I've been creating cakes, where I decided just to make something for me. I didn't really want to make a huge cake so I made a cake that was a little bit of cake and a little bit of rice krispie treats. The result is a cat lady surrounded by her feline friends, knitting away after a nice relaxing bath. And no relaxation would be complete without little bunny slippers.
The cake board was covered in fondant and then given the effect of wood flooring by hand painting it with gel. The armchair is also hand painted.
