I wanted to make this cake for awhile, so when I found a client who wanted to commission me to make a cake for her daughter's birthday in the garden theme, I couldn't pass up the chance.

I sketched out the cake and then set to work creating the kite from sugarpaste and the mushrooms from fondant.

I loved this movie as a little girl and making this cake prompted me to watch it again.

The cake was made at Christmas time so the client wanted a cake flavor that would match the holiday festivities, so I made a white cake with peppermint bark and white chocolate frosting.
